                                                                                                                                                1. It will cost more than we think. Everything with the government does and there will be lawsuits, delays etc.

                                                                                                                                                2. It won't stop that many people. We don't have enough people to patrol and protect the wall so people will go over, under or through it.

                                                                                                                                                3. People will find alternate ways in either using tourist visas, going by sea, air etc.

                                                                                                                                                4. It may never get done. Funding could get cut, there could be legal issues, etc.


                                                                                                                                                A better way to spend this money and curb illegal immigration would be:

                                                                                                                                                1. End birthright citizenship. This will kill illegals ability to get welfare.

                                                                                                                                                2. Go hard after the companies that hire illegals. I'm not talking about the random place that accidentally hires one illegal. I'm talking about the bigger industries. Much of the construction, agriculture, and food prep industries in this country operate on the backs of illegals.

                                                                                                                                                3. Streamline the deportation process to make it quicker.

                                                                                                                                                4. Improve and streamline the system that is in place that allows people to come here legally.

                                                                                                                                                5. Work with the countries where most of the immigrants come from to improve those countries so fewer people will want to leave.

                                                                                                                                                When people know they can't get jobs or welfare here, they will stop coming here.

Will it cost more, sure, but it will employ people which is better than the 3 billion spent on cash for clunkers, 4.5 trillion spent on qualititive easing by Obama to prop up the banks and the 800 billion stimulus package or the money they gave to Iran or the 54 billion that Pelosi wants for foriegn aid. 5 billion will go a long way and at least we are doing something. Trump may just declare an emergency and get it funded that way because Obama set a precedent to do things like that. Then the Democrats new power will twindle away with all their hopes and dreams they had based on the leverage they presently have.
