Anyone know how to fix a problem with Vista Home Premium and it disconnecting from the wireless network every 30-60 mins? Other devices on the network are fine it's just fucking Vista.

I have the same mother fucking thing happening. In fact, my mouse will briefly disconnect and reconnect as well as the wireless dropping in and out. And it IS a Vista issue because all of my other XP machines using the same wireless card will NEVER drop the signal. Fuck me running.Comment

Bzzt. Already tried that. I went in there again and even disabled the PCI power saving and I still have issues with the wireless dropping. I've monitored the power supply and it's solid across the board. I'm starting to think maybe the Intel mother board is twitching. Ugh.Comment

I agree...I HATE Vista! All the talk of "tuning" it really just means having to jump through a million hoops to turn off shit that they put in it that makes it unuseable.
Anyway, I too went through the problem you're having.
The problem is that Microsoft looked to the future (for once) and put TCP/IPv6 in Vistas networking. You're going to have to disable that and just use good old TCP/IPv4 because something glitches in there.
Google up: "Disable TCP/IPv6 in Vista" and you'll find the way to do it.-Robbie

No, just because it only happens in Vista doesn't mean it's a "Vista" problem. The drivers for Vista should be different than XP, although not all the time. The networking in Vista was completely rewritten, so XP might work better because the drivers shouldn't be the same, especially for networking devices. If the drivers aren't different then whoever made the device probably sucks.
When Vista first came out most creative audio cards had problems. They were causing random hissing, noise, crackling etc etc. Creative made a statement saying Vista brought out a ton of bugs that they now see in their drivers, and it's going to take a good amount of time to fix it. I'm sure they weren't the only ones who had problems, just the only ones willing to admit it's their fault.
I swear if a tree fell on the power lines outside someones house using Vista they'd figure out someway to blame Vista for the outage.
I've heard of a number of devices having the problem the OP's system is. Notice how I said it's the device with the problem not Vista. If some jackasses can't code a driver correctly for Vista it's not microsoft's fault.
If it's brand new return it for one that works. You could also get a external wireless device, try them until you find one that doesn't disconnect you. There's some that connect via your ethernet port, they might cost a bit more but that's probably your best chance for fixing it. You could also try using XP. There may be some other fix floating around the net.

Can you run "ROUTE PRINT" from command prompt. Look under the IPv4 Route Table fora ctive routes with the Network DEstination 0.0.0.0 and Netmask 0.0.0.0
How many entries do you have? If you have more than one do they have the same metric?.Comment
