We just recently moved a lot of sites to PacficRack, with 4 servers and a dedicated mySQL box. These guys bent over backwards to accommodate our needs -- certainly more than I expected from any host.

I should mention as well that Chris has been absolutely fantastic to deal with. The servers all run exceptional and without issues. I could not be happier with the service there.

I can see us picking up more boxes with PR as we continue to expand over the summer, and probably moving boxes we have at other datacenters over there as well.

So it's 10 Mbit unmetered public? That would be 3600 GB a month?

Is this all ready to go with current PHP, MySQL, Apache 2 etc?

                  If so very nice.

The actual PRACTICAL amount of transfer (unless you like slow response, packet loss etc) probably wouldn't be much different to the original 2000GB of included transfer, maybe a little bit extra, but the main thing is you don't have to worry about extra charges when you do 2100 or 2200 gigs in a month.

It's a very good deal, most of the time a $99/mo server with 10Mbps bw will be something like a P4 with a 160GB drive and 1GB RAM... this is a core2 with a large HD and 4GB RAM right off the bat.

I guess what I am wondering is what happens when you get to 2200, the description is a bit confusing. Is it 10 Mbps bandwidth or 10 Mbps transfer?

I am paying almost 500 bucks for a 30 mbps server on PACIFIC RACK..

After reading this, I am obviously moving out of this company right away... You are getting my money for free, dude.. and no.. there is no big difference in that PC.. I have 8GB, that would be 25 extra bucks..

I already asked about this and you can either have your port locked at 10Mbps (capped/flat rate) or go higher and do 95th percentile billing (with overages). I chose the former.

                                                      How is that ownage?

The guy obviously has something better but doesn't have enough technical knowledge to know about the difference. He also didn't contact his host and try to work out a better deal, but decided to drop a diss in this thread instead so a few muppets could quote him and say "pwned".

I also don't care about Chris having 4 different names as long as he does his job, which he honestly seems to do well.
