              That's one deep hole. I'm curious to see what it smells like in person.

              Hawthorne is an hour away though not sure if it's worth it to drive so much for the opening of a hole. Hhhmmm

                      This is the unveiling of their 2 mile test tunnel under Hawthorn.

                      Evidently they have a full scale test track in the tunnel already too.

                                  I've always had a hunch he intends to use the boring company on Mars.. Mars atmosphere is much thinner than here on earth hence reason Matt Damon was able to tape up the blown out hatch with plastic in that movie.

                                  If you want to colonize Mars with a lot of people, it's makes a hell of a lot more sense to build underground. Using bores to make tunnels underground would be much safer and you could then just use some sort of inflatable living structures underground.

                                  This gets you out of the radiation, out of the dust storms and in a more stable temperature range and a much safer place for your living structures. At that point you just keep the power generation up top on the surface as well as some work structures but the bulk of living areas are safe underground.
                                  In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.
