The clutch is a foot pedal, hence being called a rocker... and you shift with your left hand.
Kind of.
There are actually a couple different "foot pedal" setups.
The one I am accustomed to, which you just push in like you would with a car. Before 1986 all my Harleys had that.

The rocker requires you to manipulate the clutch with the heel and toe, in other words you bring the pedal up and down. It is different and even as I was going down the street I was learning how to make it work. It is different for sure.
I was about 7 or 8 when I had my first up close and personal contact with H-D. By the time I was 12 I knew what I would end up riding for the rest of my life.
