Play that video @ 200% in Windows Media Player. That's a pretty clean Mpeg1 file @ 200%. The actual file size is large--around 8-10Mb per minute, which is almost twice the size of normally renedered Mpeg1 files @ 4.5 Mb per minute.

I have always done mine in 640x480 or 720x480.

Too much work, re-encodeing and re-editing 64 movies. Plus, I wouldn't be selling it @ this price if it was larger resolution. THAT'S what makes it a special low price. But hey, it's working fine for people as filler. Can't beat it. Load up people, let's go!

Vittorio's content is awesome. I would consider paying an upgrade fee (I've bought both sets) if he starts making them available in original resolution. At this point in time anything at this older resolution has been played out. Surfers are expecting higher quality because that's the only thing that can beat out the shitty resolution the tube sites offer.

The amount of work it would take re-encode these at a better bitrate is very minimal, I'm not sure why you think it would be a big deal unless you're doing it wrong/the long way. I would have a quick perl script written to tell mencoder what to do and let it do it, fuck doing it all manually.

It's not wholly the re-encoding. It's 64 vids, with over 45 hours of tape that needs to be RE-EDITED TOO!! The tape is raw, with mistakes, scenes out of sequence, too lengthy shots, etc etc. Lotta work. I don't want to release a product that's not edited right.
