When I was living in Northern California, I would go camping in the mountains. After a logging company would go through and log out the timber, all the unusable timber was left behind. (Branches, leaves, ect). When you have acres of that laying on the ground, along with dry conditions and tall trees, it's a disaster in the making.Comment

When I visited California I was surprised how many people choose to live so close or even in wooded areas. A lot of the images we see show houses right next to places very prone to these fires.Comment
