As for leftists calling right wingers Nazis, here is why I think they are doing it: The Nazi party was an extreme right party that showed great disdain for liberal democracy. They also incorporated anti-semitism, scientific racism and eugenics into their creed.

Albeit Trump's administration isn't as openly radical and extremist as the Nazi party, I feel that many people see many frightening similarities between past events and today's administration...hence why people are using the term.
