Biz thread - where to incorporate your website

Looking for tips from more experienced webmasters.

What is the best country to form a company hold your site(s)?

Considering, ease of setup, cost, legal protection, taxes, etc., etc.

No, but from what I get from this board the US is not the most porn firendly country in the world, right?

            Maybe with Obama...

If you do it in Spain just remember this... horses are ok, but donkeys are not because donkeys are protected animals.

Other than that... if you pay your taxes no one cares about you

It usually isnt worth trying to go off shore unless you are clearing $500K + per year.

If you are in the US, off shore isnt really going to protect you from the govt or from civil law suits. We have sued companies off shore and merely served the owners in the US.

Off shore status is really a tax issue. And it is expensive. If you are going to incorporate/LLC in the US, do it in the state where you are located. Otherwise you may get stuck registering as a foreign corporation and paying a higher tax rate in your home state.

And you ask why this is important.... In California, if you are sued or want to sue and your taxes are NOT properly paid, you dont even get into court. Before you can avail yourself of the court system you have to pay for it. If you get sued and also get hit with a 5-6 figure tax bill, more than likely you will not be able to raise the money to defend and pay taxes and get hit with a default judgment.

It a great trick lawyers can use to prevent you from even answering a complaint.

Cyprus is a good/best option as its fully legal and only 10% company tax.

of course you can use offshore companies and such but its not legal taxwise

Thanks, does this mean it's legal to set it up in Cyprus but not other offshore locations?

The best way to do this is to contact lawyers and make sure its done 100% after the book.

Its abit expensive to setup , but very important its done right.

Its legal to setup in offshore locations as well, its not illegal to own an offshore company. However if you (an EU citizen) have profits in that company and pay low tax (0%) then thats illegal and you will get problems with your tax system in your country.

Try Nevis, costs around $700 to get incorperated, Zero corp tax, no filling of accounts, $25,000 non-refundable court bond stops legal fishing trips + complies with US/UK tax enquires so is seen a 100% legit, many insurance trusts are set up there. Remember if you don't need to sell your company or get financing against it, then incorperate offshore, it costs you less in the long run.

be cautious with CSR. Do a search about WSR and you'll find the history of CSR. They changed their name recently.

yes Belize is a very good location. USA is possible but there are a some tricky parts. You have a be a bit creative when opening the bank account to go with a Nevada corp as U.S. banks don't really like adult but there are ways around it with certain types of adult businesses.

Belize is pretty flexible with their IBC. Low yearly fees, no accounting records needed, lots of privacy. Take a look at it as one of your options.
