    MAGA: Amazon raises wages...

Workers will make on average 3-6K less per year because amazon eliminates monthly bonuses and stock grants after minimum wage increase

Overall this is good. We are going to see inflation due to this.

15 is across the board, I doubt the PT were getting 15.00 hr

Most bonus were probably going to Managers etc

read the article. The workers were getting bonuses for doing a good job.

Several Amazon warehouse employees have criticized the move, stating they would actually be losing thousands in incentive pay. Currently, warehouse workers get two shares of Amazon stock when they’re hired ($1,952.76 per share as of writing), and an additional stock option each year.

There has been a lot of talk about this on Reddit over the last few days. Amazon pays bonuses to almost all employees. If you work in a warehouse you get a bonus just for having good attendance and you get another one based on how that warehouse as a whole did. You also get stock options that total roughly 1 share of stock per year (it's about $2K per share right now). All of that is going away.

Basically, what they said is if you are part time or new it is good for you because you make more, but if you have been there for a while it likely will screw you because most people already at or near $15 won't be getting any new money, but they will be losing the bonuses and the stock options.

So what you're saying is that they get a real World experience in how socialism works here in the US?

In some ways, sure, you could say that.

This is, however, not socialism at its most basic. This is Amazon trying to save money while making themselves look good in the process.

If it were really socialism, they would cut the pay of he top staff and redistribute that money to the lower paid staff. Those on salary or not working in warehouses and customer service won't see any changes.

A friend of mine that works for Amazon says he makes LESS now since the removal of the bonuses. He also had multiple raises that were not added on top of this increase in hourly wage.

A guy on Reddit who works for Amazon broke down his situation. He has been there 3 years. He started out at $12/hr and is now at $14/hr. His monthly bonus was around $200 and in those 3 years he has gotten 5 shares of stock. Now the stock options will be gone and he loses the bonuses, but he gets a raise to $15. So he makes roughly $2,000 more a year in salary but will lose about $2400 in bonus about about $2000 in stock each year. This "raise" will end up costing him about $2400 a year plus whatever the stock would bring in the future.
