Its just someone being polite......I see old men/ladies in the supermarket every week and cashiers saying "What can I do today for you Young Sir/lady etc !

To answer the question, if someone that does not know you says, "may I help you, young lady [since I know this is about you]" then they are probably in their 60's or 70's and you are a young woman to them. At least you look young. Take it as a fucking compliment.

If it is your mother yelling, "now you listen hear, young lady" then it is time for you to spread your fucking wings, and stop dealing with her.
