Who controls the server?

Who owns the domain name?

Who controls the payment accounts?

For such an idea to work, I would say a company would need to be created, Server and Domain registered under Company. Each participant would be allocated a set number of shares.

Maybe this is the right way to go about it, or maybe I am dead wrong and a terrible way to go about it.

If the community project is to revolve around politics I expect this to be a major success as clearly, GFY has become the no. 1 political "news" source for the whole of the industry. ;)

There used to be things like this all the time. When I first got started hahahahahahaha and some others would have group projects. You would own your own domain and host it yourself, but they would show how to do things and you worked as a group, helping each other out. I had some good results with a few of those.

These days, it could work, but I'm not sure if you will be able to find enough people to get it going.
