Fact is, more and more porn is becoming freely available. Why pay if you can rub one off for free? (Wow, this tube is great, found some nice free porn. Hmm, I'll come back tomorrow... and the day after) Tube sites provide full free clips, it's not even teasing people to sign up. Unless it's a legal tube with short clips that is or it's a really specific niche and it's the only video which is linked to a sponsor. But think that's the case?

I can build a gallery for a site that will have 4, 20 second clips. These will tease a surfer's cock rock hard but probably not get him off. That is why I made good money and an easy stream of income for a long time.

Things have changed when my non-webmaster friends all say that it's so much better to just goto pornhub, redtube, spankwire, or -insert name here- tube and watch full movies for free. It's the fact that an unlimited supply of free, full movies = surfer gets off easily and for free.

If customers are moving to Tubes, the undeniable fact is that Tubes cater better to our customers needs than we do. We have convinced ourselves we are doing everything right. But the facts say the opposite. Yet even with the facts showing we are losing few will do anything about it.

And that's the sad part. They believe if they close Tubes all the customers will flock back.

I will tell you this.

They will not.

Some will go to legal Tubes that have 4-6 minute clips, many hosted by sponsors so the Tube site can sell dating sites. Some will go Torrent, some will just go to the Tubes sites that have not been cleaned out. Some will go for 3 day memberships which is not so bad and some will stop buying.

But this has never been truer.

To sell a product you have to have a product people want.

And the solution in a shrinking market is to sell to more of the people you have buying, not send more traffic to poorly performing sites or add more affiliates sending traffic. The traffic pool is a repeat buying educated bunch. They will no longer swallow our lines telling them we have the greatest site ever. They've been conned too many times.

How you improve your product is easy to do, the problem is many are scared to do it. and MIS pointed out the problems.

More options on memberships. Length and price.
More content.
More varied style of content in a site.
Better content.
Live girls for members.
Open the site so the surfers see the site is not a rip off.

Because the solution is no longer getting more affiliates to send more traffic. Everyone's stats show the problem is getting the same amount of traffic today and the same ratios. We have to start selling to the buyers.

And making sure he leaves wanting to buy again.

Because an eager customer is always worth more than 10 reluctant ones.

And as for the industry leaders, they are the guys who led us to this place.

I agree with this part the most - surfers are bored with the standard porn site.

it was bound to happen that the easy money and gravy train of the early online porn days would come to an end.

The online porn business has treated me well for over 10 years and I'm still making a profit so I can't complain. I am now branching out to mainstream projects, there's lots of opportunity there since everyone and their grandparents are now online - it reminds me of the early days of web porn.

Step 1: Get a large community together to upload videos to porn tubes that are cut off in the middle of the video and it says something along the lines like "You have been downloading a virus while watching this".. or anything that would scare the shit out of them.

Step 2: People get scared of tube sites and tube sites slowly die or at least stop dominating so much.

Step 3: This probably wouldn't work but I think it sounds kewl.

I agree with you about it being exclusive and unique, you forgot to add good ;).

The problem is few will invest enough money, time and effort in a producing something that is good, exclusive and unique. They will shoot it themselves because a few with the talent could and survived, forgetting all those who could not survive. Or they will approach professional shooters and cringe at the price and end up with someone who churns out scene after scene to get it into a low budget.

A few do shoot for themselves and do well and a few do pay others to shoot with a budget that allows for producing a good product. But mostly they look on it like ATK, anyone who can get a cute in focus to do 5 sets and videos in a day for $1200 to $1500 can have the job.

Then spend the money on driving traffic to a site with this content in. If it converted well it was another warning to the customers to be on their guard and not believe everything a tour said, if it converted badly it sunk.

You can't make a silk purse on the budget for a sows ear.

Google is currently taking a strong initiative against CPA companies that employ cross sales in their business. They already started to ban shitload of websites from Adwords and Adsense that do this cross sale bullshit or people who promote websites that do such things. Google had to do this, because their CTR on ads and people's conversions were dropping, thus google was starting to see less money from advertisers overall. By google taking a stand against cross sales and scammy looking websites, and filtering out the garbage practices, they are driving their CTR and consumer purchases from ADs higher, and in return more websites will be advertising with google.

His method is for those who don't know how to make an honest long term business work. He even admits it. He's back to make as much money as quickly as possible and fuck the consequences. The good thing is the customers and affiliates are now well aware of these kind of practices and will be un-clicking or charging back.

Ron if you have to wait 1,000 years to make a site work I suggest you learn about the business or get into one you do know. Because most customer are no longer "noobs" they're either wise to your tricks or no how to charge back.

What MIS points out is spot on. His type of site teaches new buyers, which is important to most industries not to buy.

i prefer to write under banner simple text "$30 per month" so the only surfer who click on banner would be the surfer who is actually interested in signing up and he knows the price.
