You're right, I have not been a "member of the GFY community" as long as you have. I watch the boards and have for many years, but really never posted, because it is my belief that 90% of the posts are all about "discourse" like this. "You suck" "your shit sucks" "I'm cooler" "you're not cool" etc. etc.etc. boring........
Listen, I made a rant of a post after hearing webmasters in Phoenix upset about their sponsor programs; a post requesting new business from anyone who wanted a new look from us at Maxcash; and no one responded. I shouldn't have been so effusive, it wasn't thoughtful, and I believe that I did actually insult people. I regret it, I appologized for it, and I deserved to be slammed for it. (Actually the "full retard" comment still makes me laugh 5 days later, and truly I appreciate any humor even if it is directed at me).
I am now done appologizing for it however. It has opened up a real opportunity to have meaningful discussion about the community, (On-line adult entertainment Industry). After 73,000 posts, I would think that you above most others would be able to add significant insight into most programs, and many elements of the workings of the space, and the way in which they can benefit webmasters / affiliates and other members of "your" community. At the minimum your responsibility to any community, is to improve it, and that is all I am trying to do. It has been an interesting welcome to this community for me; exactly how it should be in my opinion with support and detraction.....and humor.
Please feel free to ignore me however if your interest is to simply "catch" me making semantic errors. Trust me I will make those errors, and we could have a thread that goes for 10 days about mistakes I make. Maybe that is how one gets to have 73,000 posts. Instead, I would rather openly discuss in a very valuable public forum what makes money for members of the adult community, (GFY included), and how we can all use the places we are to improve the space (GFY included) for everyone.
Slam away or ignore away it's up to you, but I invite you to engage with me in a meaningful way that could, with some thought and information exchange, assit folks make more money. Although I understand that there are many reasons to watch the boards, that is why I am here: to make more money.

I just find it odd whenever an obvious industry long-timer states the reason he or she refrains from posting is because of all the "useless boring shit", yet having more intelligent posters here is the thing that has always been sorely lacking. On the contrary, selling adult material, servicing those sales etc.etc. is genius. 5 -10 years from now when this is as common as Playboy, people will think the original folks in this space are uber-smart. That quote comes from a post made that Maxcash is out of touch. My "it's more like the 90's" was saying that we have paid out 1/2 a billion dollars and counting, and it's more relevant to say we are more like that, than we are no longer relevant.
Again, being in the space so long has definate advantages as it does in any vertical, from shark fishing to mountain climbing. Experience is valuable, and we are (MaxCash is) using that experience now to convert better than we have in a while.
Current--The new revisions are, but again, most importantly there is more money to be had because of our backend. We could not have such a productive and robust backend without the experience.Comment

I don't want to belabor the point but weren't you the same guy who was saying affiliates are too stupid to realize when they have a good thing in front of them or something to that effect? I apologize if I twisted the meaning too far by inserting the word "idiots" into my above post. I'm sometimes guilty of taking too much creative license. :D
Anway it was mostly a figure of speech, as I was attempting in an oblique way to also includ all the other industry long-timers who have said over the years that they don't post much "because of all the idiots", "too much crap posted", "boring" etc. You're not the only one, not by a long shot. Don't feel too singled out.
One word of advice on posting, now that you've decided to come out of lurking mode; Never forget that this is largely an ego-driven business and/or online community. I'll illustrate why -- Back in the day there was barely enough room on the few boards we did have for the dozens of massive egos, nearly all of them trading incredibly clever board piss with one another. But at least most of them had actual business and an income to match it.
These days you have thousands of egos running around the boards but sadly most of them LACK anything of substance backing them up. Times have definitely changed.

That IS the issue, and an answer to your initial rant of why there was no interest. There isn't a single new (or returning) webmaster that would go to Maxcash.com, look at the content and sites and say "WOW! I need to get this hot new content to my surfers!" Your post did cause me to make my annual visit to Maxcash, and again the same result. I looked at all those mundane sites and tours with non exclusive content and closed the browser. As mentioned earlier by someone, else every single one of those niche sites are done so much better by others now.Here's the thing: Maxcash is making more money on sites that are converting better than they have a year ago, six months ago even 1 month ago. That truly was all this thread was about. Karas is doing better than that. That is happening because of our backend and our ability to push more customers through the door. That is a simple fact, that was what I was trying to include webmasters in, webmasters I know, and webmasters I don't.
Also, saying things like "Maxcash's 1000 year old sites"... I know what you mean when you say that, it's a slam like we're not relevant. I'll repeat myself from an earlier thread: any changes that need to be made can be, any updates are simple to achieve. But having been around as long as we have means we have experience in good times and in bad times, and instead of slamming Maxcash, which probably won't get you your intended results anyway, it might be smarter to take a look at why a program has survived so long, and is currently thriving while others are bemoaning their fate.
For a company that keeps repeating they've made $500 million, it appears not a single penny was invested into new content or improving the sites. That's my opinion, take it for what it's worth.Comment

I do believe that I have been a member of this 'community' as long as you. I also think that doesn't really matter in the wider scope of this conversation. Having been on here long enough does allow a person to perhaps better understand how these sort of posts go. On that I agree.
I can't recall ever calling people idiots on this board for anything they didn't deserve and even in those cases I am sure I have been far more polite than most. Johnny will catch on about learning how to smirk and lift your eyebrow in a post rather than 'going full retard'. That comes with spending more time with our 'community'. I shouldn't have "gone full retard" as it were and perhaps I won't live that comment down. (It is good however, maybe I should change my "regstered user" moniker on GFY to "full retard". Might endear me to the people in the GFY community).
I want to use this board to make money; it's intended purpose I believe. Believe me I do not think that I have the last word on any of this. I have made great money in the adult space; I want to make more and assist others to make more as well.

Man, it's not hard to see why people are making less money. 2007 thinking in 2009, that's the problem. Not saying exclusive content doesn't work with some biz models, but here we are telling you that Kara's, a flagship site since 1995, is converting better today than it has in years. New design have something to do with it? Perhaps. But how about the fact that we, as a company, are structured to allow more people in the door.
In other words, exclusive content, non exclusive content, landmark content of two Martians in a 69, it all means shit if your processing capabilities aren't up to 2009 standards.
Absorb that ONE fact and you'll make more money.

Maybe MaxCash could benefit from some "new school" instead of so much focus on old school payouts and old school staff. You were big in the 90s, but so was Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. New programs are bigger and better today because of their talent, risk management, innovation and new ideas.

Probably the most clear and concise post in this thread regarding the "old MaxCash is old argument". It's been said in a number of ways throughout but ignored by the posters complaining the loudest about "old tours" and 1980/90's looking sites.
If you didn't like the manner in which this thread originally started, I get that and JohhnyV addressed and apologized already ... BUT to ignore an intelligent response to the one point brought up over an over again is ridiculous. Our tours far from suck and our ability to get joins through the door is second to none.

I could toss out a witty little comment here but instead I'll say I disagree with that. Fact is one hell of a lot of business gets done here but a lot of people fail to notice it because they are so focused on all the drama and infighting and trolling that goes on.
Thing of it is those drama and trolling threads have their uses too. No board can be all straight-laced and biz-only threads all the time. Show me a board like that and I'll show you a board that has about 10 active members.
