You are on point with a few things that you are saying.


Been friends with Kimbo and Icy Mike for 7+ years. Kimbo has always been a super polite respectful class act. But make no mistakes about it, Icy Mike made Kimbo.

I met mike through a friend who knew that i trained fighters and was looking to set up a bare knuckle "No Rules Fight" with his fighter who i never heard of. Said he would put up 10k against my 10k saying his fighter would win.

I thought to myself who the fuck is this guy and does he have any idea what i did and who i trained? Does he think im some kind of random porn director that likes to hear himself talk?

So i asked him where does your fighter train? He said he is just is a bad ass and can whoop anyones ass, just check his name out on youtube. I was like, really? Wow cool. OK???


I, at the time had quite a few friends that fought for Pride, UFC and I scouted fighters for "King of the Cage". Keep in mind, i knew everyone from everywhere because all of the fighters knew, if you fight for "King of the Cage" you could get picked up by "Pride" and that was where the money was. Starting pay for "King of the Cage" was $500. Any and All of these guys would have taken a "No Rules" fight for 5k.



Long story short i went down to Florida 2 weeks later for unrelated business. Met up with Icy Mike for dinner. I wanted to raise the stakes to 20K. Needless to say Mike found out that all of my fighters were pro and for real. He also learned what Pride was. Then he wanted to not allow any ground fighting in the fight. I laughed and said, "you said no rules", now you want rules? how is that a "no rules" fight?

Nothing fight wise materialized after that weekend. But i was invited to stay at one of Mikes houses and go party with them as they shot Inthevip.com. That is when I 1st met Kimbo. He was one of the coolest most respectful politest guys that i ever met. Was not thug or gangster. Spoke soft correct english.


Long story short, me and Kimbo have kept up ever since. Would stop by and see him as he trained with Bas Ruton and watched his skills grow into a true mixed martial artist.

Is Kimbo at the top of the MMA world? Nope. Has he gotten good at MMA? Hell yea, he has.


At the end of the day Kimbo has never talked big game. He kept quiet and let everyone else and youtube talk for him. And as a result he got paid on a massive scale. I think anybody in his situation would have done the same.


Now finally, do i think he is good enough to whoop on a 140lbs fighter with less than 5 amateur fights? Yes!! And i would personally put 250K against your 50k any day of the week. Keep in mind Kimbo still trains hard and is with Top Team right now.





I have been in BJJ for 19 years and MMA when it was called "Vala Tudo" and "no rules fighting". I have seen it all and heard it all. Got personal stories for days. Thought that you guys would get a chuckle from this particular story.

my point was to prove like you said in your story at the time anyone with little bit real fighting should take a street fighter ....

so I had many of conversations over the phone with mike set up through pipecrew (jordan) and what stopped it was I wanted MMA gloves they wanted bare knuckles and I would not do it...

I agreed to everything else but the gloves part...

I know the dood can hit... and I know im small gloves may save my life vs just a fight to prove a point....

anyways I was backed at the time by NetVideoGirls (im sure you know could have backed any price) mike had the money... just one thing... im not crushing my skull in to prove I can submit a striker only.. which at the time he was only a striker....

does he train hard? He can't physically train as hard as you or I can because of a medical condition ....

Im talking puking hard.. cardio hard then 10 rounds of 5 min sparring at 80% hard then doing hour of bjj hard .....

all I know are facts... I train with and am sparring partner to guys who have many pro fights... trained with kimbo... and I hold my own weather we go 50% 80% or full free spar....

but it's a fight... he has just as much of a chance to KO me as I do to submit him....

I know that since last october the video you are watching ... I have trained regilously 5 days a week at least 3 but mostly 4 hours a day until now with nohting but pro's with very hard sparring ....

I do got to hand it to Icy Mike for keeping Kimbo winning and looking unbeatable for so long. They made some serious money with the "Kimbo Slice" mystique/urban legend.

6 years ago i would have put you or any BJJ purple belt with wrestling skills at any weight class against Kimbo. But right now after being seasoned and training with real fight teams, i think it would be a different story just because of the weight difference and he does know enough BJJ to ground and pound and sprawl and brawl. I think he would hurt a person weighing 165lbs, no mater what the skill level.
