is the online custom t-shirt business a good business?

someone is talking to me about partnering with him on an online t-shirt business, just like zazzle and cafe press, etc.

Im not really jazzed about it. what do you all think of that business?

I think it's a pretty desperate business at the moment. Probably depends on what country you're in, but generally the printing business has been getting worse over the past few years. I own a printing company, so I'm quite aware of what's going on.
Basically I don't even offer printing services on-line because the prices on-line companies are giving are just insanely low. Luckily most customers still prefer doing business off-line

With the way the economy is going it'll have to be used t-shirts and you'll have to offer free shipping.

I didn't mean to discourage you, it's just that it's a tough time to get into this type of business.

If you find a niche that will work for you, I think it's still possible to make money. If you can design, it might be a good idea for you to make a deal with a larger printing company. You can always start off by printing there and buy your own printer when you feel the time is right.
