Some Paul Tard gets questioned by the TSA because they think he is a right wing nutcase that might blow up something - no surprise here and given recent events I would say they are doing good job.

Yes, there was a time when you could do this.

You're probably too young to remember, but there was a time when you could get on a plane with your own liquids and gels. When you didn't have to go through a metal detector. You didn't have to take off your shoes. You didn't have to get your bags x-rayed.

A mere 8 years ago, there was no such thing as the "Transportation Security Administration". Government goons didn't pull people aside and question them and threaten them simply because they were getting on a plane.

But thanks to Bush and Obama, we are now subject to all these abuses while people like you cheer them on.

There is a big difference between operating a vehicle and being a passenger inside a vehicle. The question should not be "do you have a right to drive a car outside of your private property" or "do you have a right to fly a plane outside your private property". The question should be "For which reasons does the government justify the authority to require a license in order to operate a vehicle?". And "what criteria determines who gets a license?".

But as we both know, the guy with the cash was not intending to operate the aircraft.

Do you think passengers should be required to have a license in order to board an aircraft? If I can show evidence that airport and aircraft security may be improved by requiring all passengers to be licensed for riding on an aircraft, would you support a law that requires a new special license in order to ride on an aircraft? how about a license to ride in a car? if it will improve safety, then why not?

Even if it was a lot of cash, it was a domestic flight and there are no laws saying he couldn't carry large sums domestically. Internal flights you are suppose to inform them if you are traveling with 10k USD or more.

          3) It's called "rights" and he was exercising them. I would have done the same. A few thousand dollars is not out of the norm for many people to travel with and it's none of TSA's business what I'm doing with it.
Amen. No matter what side of the aisle you are on egregious abuses of police power like this need to stop. This indecent is the texbook definition of an unreasonable search and seizure. Their attempts to deny him his right a and intimidate him only make the matter worse. Cops who abuse their power in this way should be fired at a minimum.
