Telemarketing, I had to call people and read a script and got paid only $6.50 an hr plus "bonuses". It's degrading to have to call people and get hung up on and cussed out for little money. Probably more degrading than doing double anal or bukkake.

deja vu for me!
In university I had all of these short breaks (a week, a month, etc). Who the fuck will give you a job for a week? Nobody. You put in your application and you'll get a call back maybe a week later even for Starbucks or Gap or wherever....
The only people who ever hired me for such short periods of time were telemarketing agencies. They hear you on the phone, the next day you start work if you sound decent enough.
Wow....everyone who had worked there had been an ex convict whose parole officer had gotten them the job. Many had tattoos on their heads and were very scary looking criminals. Many of them had done hard time for things like armed robbery, car jackings, robberies, etc. My boss had been a former gang banger and almost his entire body was tattooed with gang tattoos. My other boss was a former telephone sex operator.
People did drugs in the bathroom....
And I got asked out all the time and got broguht flowers because I was that nice looking middle class kid from the suburbs just there for some quick cash. Most people there were pretty nice all things considered, but needless to say I kept my distance, worked the week or month or whatever and got the fuck out.

Oh gawwwwd... I'm the king of shitty jobs when I was younger...
From age 16 to 23 in no particular order... Mcdonalds, furniture mover, headshop clerk (in a SHITTTTTY neighborhood), phone sex customer service rep, dishwasher, fast food chicken delivery guy (in one of the worst areas of Minneapolis)... the list goes on...
And all the above for fantastic pay!

HEH... its sounds A LOT more glamourous than it was. TRUST ME ON THAT.
It was the early 90s and I was doing temp work in the Valley in LA. I was the guy that would get the initial call so that I could verify credit card info. before patching the caller thru to one of the girls. It was ridiculous how many callers I got trying to pass of fake CC info.
I also fielded calls from angry spouses questioning the bill in the mail in the plain envelope wondering what the charges were for.
And then when I was bored I'd listen in to a few calls LOL.
This only lasted a few weeks. The manager was a complete prick. I could have made money being a phone sex talker for gay callers but I passed.Comment

Funny story about that, when I was a kid we used to call phone sex numbers all the time in the back of Hustler magazine and make up fake credit card numbers trying to get through. This was during the Reagan administration, and there was a parody ad next to the phone sex ads with a picture of Nancy Reagan talking on the phone and an ad for "Nancy's Phone Sex Line" with a phone number. We had struck out on every other number we called, so we tried that number, and when we asked the woman that answered for phone sex she replied in a disgusted voice, "We don't have anything like that here, this is the White House!". Talk about scaring the shit out of a bunch of stupid kids...Comment

I've had many shitty jobs but I'll just talk about one.
I used to work at Burger King in Ohio on the whopper boards....It was a cool job but I gained 15 pounds working there because I was running my own burgers through the grill..
This was when MC Hammer was on top along with his girl group, "Oaktown 357"....Well they had a concert in my city and all of these niggas showed up at Burger King wanting some food....We worked like Maniacs to get the food to Hammer, 357, and the hundred other niggas whose only job was to work for Hammer.....
Afterwards, I had to clean up the dining area after they left.....Those ungrateful niggas would order 2-3 cheeseburgers, take ONE BITE out of the burger, and leave the rest on the table for me to clean up...They wouldn't even bother walking it to the numerous trash cans....They could do it because Hammer was paying for everything....I said to myself, "Look at these ungrateful niggas wasting all of this food".....
Later on, we all know Hammer went broke because he spent all his money employing all of the other bums from his neighborhood.Comment

You would not believe the stuff that people do at a cinema.
When I was back in the States in November we had a reunion of people that worked in the cinema when I was there as a teen and the first thing we all brought up was a repeat customer that we had nicknamed 'diarrhoea man'.
That doesn't even include the fact that we had to throw John Popper (blues traveller..he lived in the area) out for getting a blowjob in the cinema and not really hiding it very well.Comment

The worst was when I was 19 yrs old ... digging ditches literally .. small ones for fence poles ... in the winter in NY! The ground was nearly frozen and my back was always killing me!
The other was in my 20's doing collections for the L.A. Times in gang infested parts of Pacoima! Saw some crazy episodes and was lucky I never got robbed myself

Working at a fishing dock while in highschool. I was in charge of the loading the dog fish (sand sharks) from the boats that came in at all hours of the night. It was so smelly I had to sell my car because of the smell. And I would get calls at 12:30am to come down and load up the trucks. Good money for a HS kid......SHITTY JOB!!!!!!!!!Comment

Worked for Sears department store where you had to wear a dumbass tie to work everyday, weren’t allowed to sit down at all, and had to re-fold all the perfectly folded clothes if there was no other work to do. After a month they fired me… saying I wasn’t "cut out" for retail,

But the WORST of them all for me was… ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER!

Actually one of my favorite jobs was working in a girl's/woman's retail clothing store in Brooklyn called Mandee's. I was the only guy there and working with all girls had it's perks ... from sales clerks to customers ... that job paid shitty but paid off in other better ways!

My other favorite shitty job was working at a motel near Marina Del Rey off Washington. I was the night auditor/front desk clerk from 11pm - 7am and putting myself through Santa Monica College.
The things I experienced/witnessed ... I could definitely write a book/screenplay!
It would be like "Clerks" meets "Crash' meets "Blow" meets "Superbad" ... w/ hookers/pimps/drug dealers/junkies/Vacation travelers/families/motel managers/gang members/cops and very crazy situations w/ a free continental breakfast thrown in for good measure!
