That's a normal behavior for a normal human. Unfortunately there are not so many of those in my country. Personally I don't leave any garbage after myself anywhere.
I watched the Colombia match and loved it. Was wondering why Colombians were video taping Japanese fans after the game...now I know.
I love my adopted country. So clean everywhere.
After a festival, 5 minutes later after 100000 people have crowded through narrow streets it looks like less than 5 people were there.
Children are taught to keep their classrooms clean and take turns cleaning cafeteria and bathrooms. Builds a solid character, teaches cooperation, imho.
"Most Japanese schools do not employ janitors or custodians. The Japanese education system believes that requiring students to clean the school themselves teaches respect, responsibility, and emphasizes equality."

I don't know about the modern schools in my country, but during the Soviet times we had exactly the same system. The pupils were responsible to keep their schools clean.
I saw a bunch of English fans start to tidy up after the Belgium match. After a bit of fighting, they ended up throwing what they had picked up on the floor. On the way out they also tipped over the bins and kicked the litter around the stadium.
Was stationed @ Camp Zama for maybe a 1/4 of my career let alone my base was Ft. Benning.
Anyway, all I heard was "How's my English" not to mention you're cut off from the rest of the world. Not like North Korea but mother F'n close to it. If any of you traveled, you know, there is limited international world wide TV coverage in Japan.
As a matter of fact, my kid has been stationed over there for over 2 years. Nothing changes.\
They cant even tell you the weather in So. Korea and that is a Tiger Woods T-Shot away.
That's what getting a nuke dropped on you will do....instant manners and a penchant for tentacle rape porn.
Interesting commentary. I read somewhere that Japanese testosterone levels are some of the lowest in the world. Would that have something to do with why they are (generally speaking) polite, honorable, work towards a common goal, and such hard workers?
