It wasn't too long ago that the Republican party systematically attacked and tried to destroy the careers of the singing group The Dixie Chicks because they said they weren't proud to be from Texas because Bush (who was POTUS at the time) was from there.
They also lost their shit whenever Obama did anything they saw as any kind of a slight towards other countries.
Had Obama done this, right now Hannity would be in a hospital because he would have turned himself inside out over it.

There was plenty of hate from country music fans and the country music industry, but much of the actual attack on them, getting them thrown off radio playlists, holding gatherings where they steamrolled their CD's etc was organized by right wing PACS.
