    Trump admin calling on the courts to throw out protections for people with pre-existing conditions

    The Trump administration is urging a federal court to dismantle two of the most popular provisions of Obamacare, but to delay taking such drastic action until after the midterm elections this fall.

    Responding to a lawsuit from conservative states seeking to invalidate the Affordable Care Act, the Justice Department told a judge in Texas on Thursday that Congress’ decision to repeal the penalty for failing to buy health insurance renders unconstitutional other Obamacare language banning insurers from charging people more or denying them coverage based on a pre-existing condition.

              Hopefully when the Democrats regain control of the government they can solve this problem in a more permanent way. I used to joke that if it did not involve killing, torturing, conquering, or imprisoning people, Republicans did not want to pay for it. But it does not seem like a joke anymore. This is a really stupid move to make right before an election. We all have a pre-existing condition - we are human. We are all going to get sick and die one day, regardless of your political affiliation. The fact that the US allows profiteering from illness and death, when almost no other advanced country does, speaks volumes.

                                                      Yes, he said he wanted to get rid of it and replace it with something better. While the Repubs fucked it up due to their greed / bribes from insurance companies, Trump eventually decided to keep Obamacare. Ok that's fine, but since people are no longer forced to buy it, it will completely implode. It was also a rip-off for many people (4x higher premiums), as well as being unconstitutional.
