Love love LOVE this movie. Here are my 3 favourite scenes:
(SPOILERS)
Especially the long pause on Mark Wolberg's face starting at 0:50s. So much tension, such great acting, so much coolness.
This part is just brilliant. The scene is progressing normally and Don Cheadle's character is having a nice moment with no cares at all, and there's zero tension in the scene until thief comes in. All good until the guy in the red hat reaches into his coat and pulls out his gun. WOW. Then the zoom on Don Cheadle and the money. Brilliant.
The nice long tracking shot starting at 0:13 here reminds me of a Depalma 70's movie. Again, tension, but you don't really know why until .... BOOM!
I spoke to Bill Margold about this, before he passed. What really irked him was the lack of a "bust", which is what everyone was really worried about then. In fact, Bill told me if the movie did a better job of portraying the times, it would have shown "jam clothes" hanging near set; in other words, when the cops raided the set, you could jump in your jam clothes and haul ass out the back door and over the fence / out to the streets to avoid arrest.
Modern-era movies/tv showing people playing 70s dress-up and going through the motions (Boogie Nights included) is always kinda lame. You can cut the pretentiousness with a knife. Its never too close to how it really was. Though it sometimes has it moments.

I've never heard of "jam clothes".... How funny is that?
