It will get kicked to the curb as soon as Microsoft dies, or perhaps when Google releases GoogleOS pre-packaged with Chrome (that supports FF plugins). Windows 7 with IE8.1 is coming soon.
I, myself, surf with IE, and develop for IE. If it works in IE, it'll work nearly everywhere.

Develop with .net, so I've always used IE. Also have FF for checking how things look with other browsers. Need to say IE8 tends to display page much the same as FF does, needed to change a few things to display right in IE8, mainly some javascript.
IE8 does seem a bit bloated and slow though...Comment

I actually read an article yesterday that said Firefox now has about 27% of the browser market. So you would assume once you add in Chrome and Opera and Safari are IE probably has around 60% or more.Comment
