btw: as i mentioned in that report, i constantly get flamed about one thing - the prefix/suffix thing in domain names - what's the general opinion on this? IMHO (based on my own experience), a 123keyphrase.com ranks higher [for "keyphrase"] than a keyphrase123.com..

haha yup when I came into this thread I was expecting to see more spam like the webcam spam that one loser is trying to scam to get people to pay him $20 and to get referral affiliates but this link was just as it is stated and has some decent SEO tips in it..

also do you find and weight given to specific page file extensions? does *.html outrank *.php or *.asp?

me, currently being higher than a cow on laxatives i'd say that's just the way i'd do it.
however, with proper on and offpage optimization, there's no need to hyphenate stuff.. i use it when the term's not exactly clear.. like y'know "kidsexchange.com" (kids exchange) or something. personally, i won't rely on the SE's smartness here.

then, theres this prefix/suffix thing. you might call me nuts, but *I* found i can rank higher for [keyphrase] with xxxkeyphrase.com instead of keyphrasexxx.com - but perhaps thats just my lack of skills - i don't claim to know all and errthing about seo.

i'd set it up like this:

niche.com/sub-niche/your-exact-keyphrase.html

whatever you do, just don't use underscores.

you see, that's what i've always gone for. i have just heard arguments from a handful of people over time who argue wholeheartedly for the .html. i've never really tested them against one another to find out for myself.

Most folks around here don't have the patience for SEO, so that leaves SEM - get out the VISA...

For those wondering - SEM = buying ads on the SEs. Quicker but can cost some $$.
