If you are going to deal with allrecipes.com (better than many others out there - to commercial) make sure you read comments. Otherwise I would say to find some blogs (there are thousands) by people you can relate too. I could name a few but I do not think they would like to see gfy in their referral logs - since many are stats whores as well.Comment

They actually suck pretty hard. Plus you will get pissed with that damn netflix pop up after awhile. Then there is the whole issue that the same company owns recipezaar.com and has good reason to make foodnetwork.com suck even more to get you over to the other site. About only thing foodnetwork is really good for is to look up a given recipe you may have seen one of their people cooking on TV.
Wont go into how bad their network really is. How everyone with an ounce of talent is fleeing them left and right (still positive they have some good blackmail material on Alton Brown and Bobby Flay). I also swear if they build another cooking star out of assorted spare parts again I will flip out. OK I have issues with food network.Comment

Just google whatever you're going to make. Be specific and use the entirety of the web at your disposal. If you pick one website, you're limiting yourself to that website.
If you want to make pancakes google "pancake recipe", if you want to make pasta sauce google "pasta sauce recipe". You'll get much more results and variety doing it that way IMO.
Also, if you watch food network all the time. With every show on there where they cook something, you can go online and they'll have the recipe they used. It's a pretty fuckin cool feature.

Alton has real ability.
Guy is a hack, fuck the dude does not even use his real name (Ferry). Nothing about the dude is real, from his hair to claiming everything is off the hook or money. There is a serious reason why they give him very few shows where he needs to actually cook anything at all worth eating. Best to just keep him shoving more shit into his mouth so we can hear less coming out, and let him continue to be a spokesman for a shithole national chain eatery.Comment

Not sure if someone documents everything (His wiki page mentions his real name). I just read a lot of food blogs and such so I end up following a lot of the small stories. Examples being both Mario and Emeril leaving food network, Alton is on for at least another season of good eats and Iron cheff.Comment
