Does anyone else think The Handmaid's Tale is complete trash? Especially the second season. I don't want to give away spoilers (for those who haven't watched it yet) but really most of the episodes are just filler that really don't advance the plot at all. But that's only one reason why it sucks. Every second of the show is oppressive and dark, not necessarily a bad thing, but really there's nothing optimistic about it. The story itself is hugely unbelievable and ridiculous. It makes no sense how this "sect" or whatever it is can control so much territory. Also, even the stupidest person in the world knows you can't physically and mentally abuse a woman and expect her to get pregnant and then give birth to a healthy child. Lastly, I hate how it seems to cater to women's and homosexual's fears, as if saying "Be careful, or this might happen to us."
I started watching this show because my GF insisted we give it a try. Now, by season two, even she realizes it is stupid and pointless.
