there is no danger with low birth rates. this is an opportunity to start colonizing the planet, decentralizing farming and industry with automated deliveries between settlements etc... start managing the land.

the largest hurdle humanity faces, as it always has been, is surviving our technology, been that way since the first dipshit put the fire at the wrong end of the cave.

peoples with low intellect tend to be emotionally geared, so sex is on the front burner along with war, terrorism, misogyny, superstation etc.... I doubt the leaders of the movements are so encumbered .. .. they do it for the money and power... and BTW deviousness and treachery are not signs of intelligence. being clever is not smart....

Low birth rates are a danger to govts and economies, be it capitalism, socialism whatever. All forms of govt and economies require constant growth to keep up with their spending and consuming.

Think what happens after the baby boomers are gone and all that real estate sits empty. This is why western govts are ok with immigration because it feeds the need.

Humans don't need to increase population for this to happen. Seriously

With AI already being declared as having human rights, AI can be paid for it's work ( it already is ) and pay taxes on the income it receives, etc. etc.

Providing sotware services to economies with booming populations is another way to boost our economy without increasing population.

You think you willl own the AI unit that goes to work and makes money for you? Thats not happening and neither is universal income.. Lets look at cars as example... Uber will not have thousands of drivers once self driving cars are reliable. It wont be a car owner that leases a car to Uber to go make him money.. It will be Uber owning all the self driving cars and taking all the money.

Samething will happen with trucking or any other industry that will be replaced with self driving vehicles. It will be large corporations that own the vehicles and all those jobs will be gone. The trucking companies or uber wont pay people out of the goodness of their hearts.. Trucking is the top job in the US right now so think when all those trucks are driverless where will those workers be employed?

This same thing will happen in every industry where AI can take jobs. AI will further seperate the haves and the have nots and we will see a much larger wealth gap than what we have now..

Basically, IMO everyone should be busting ass to get their self set because when the job losses hit its gonna hurt a lot of people. My guess is you have about 20-30 years. Better get your house paid for and get yourself a sustainable life style for the money you have.

No one gives a shit about starving Africans or Afghans living in mud huts just like they wont care about poor people with no jobs in the 1st world countries once we start seeing massive unemployment due to AI.

Honestly, there are already tens of thousands of poor people here in the US that no one cares about. Hell Republicans are always trying to take the welfare from those people as well as their housing assistance and food stamps.. Trump is already doing it..

They surely will not support some basic income for people like a lot of people seem to think is in our future.

I am always astonished by the perpetual need for states growth since we live on a planet of finite size that can already no longer produce enough food if the whole population lived at the level of the most developed countries ...

It wont be like people are living in shanty towns or anything, but the wage gap will continue to grow and the ability to move upwards vertically with wealth will be non existent. America was great because of our middle class and reasonably spread out wealth distribution. However the middle class has been under attack for years by the right and corprate America and due to that the ride will eventually end..

Japan is WAY overpopulated. Low birth rates are good and a natural correction. Forcing it one way or the other is bad bad bad.
