OKay, black holes do not "suck" or eat anything. For an example, if the sun overnight turned into a black hole (wouldnt happen, but just pretend) the orbits of the planets would remain the same. Its a mass that has colapsed on itself, it doesnt suck light into it, it just doesnt let light out.

Not exactly, everything which is within the Event Horizon (I hope I´ve translated that the right way) would be "sucked" towards the center of the black hole, even light

Black holes might not be so black.

There is a theory called Hawking Radiation. The idea is that particles and anti-particle pairs are being created all the time. They usually annihilate each other real fast (Quantum mechanics).

Right at the event horizon of black holes though one of the pairs goes into the black hole and the other races away. So in theory, we should be able to observe hawking radiation coming from the event horizon.

Also, there are some observations of what are believed to be (probably rotating) black holes shooting out jets of matter thousands of light years in length parallel to the axis of rotation. As far as I know the mechanics of how this jet is formed are not well understood.

                              - from the physics desk.
