This might not be a good idea... parasites, bacteria, viruses... It’s probably tempting for him but you know... safety first.

Dogs eat they're own feces so my guess is that CS is safe ...

When I lived in the country and had a dog, I trained it so it didn't poo by the roadside like that, so I never had to pick up the mess. I made sure it went and did it in other people's gardens instead.
