I grew up on a ranch in Alberta, in the late fall before the snow fell, I could walk across the road about a mile through the pasture and we had a long strip of thick trees where the rabbits and grouse ran like crazy. There was that perfect window most years where the rabbits are starting to turn a little white yet there's no snow fallen yet. Perfect time of year for a rabbit hunt. Any other time the odds of seeing or gettign a shot of at those little snowshoes is pretty unlikely. Any time I could go out and get a couple rabbits or a handful of grouse before dinner, that's what we'd eat. Stew those tasty little bastards up. Hell, come winter time I would go out and snare rabbits. Then in the spring time I'd walk the same strip of trees looking for shed deer antlers. I spent a fuckload of time in those trees...

I guess we could have raised ur own rabbits, but they'd wind up dead all the same. I have no problem putting lead into an animal if I'm going to eat it. Unlike the hordes of softened up little city faggots who will line up to tell me how terrible I am for hunting or ranching, while they readily line up to buy their prepackaged meats at safeway as though that animal had passed of natural causes...
