I think that people are just maybe easily impressed when people of means and power do anything of good for others out of compassion as many times they do very little without some kind of ROI for themselves. What I found so amusing is how cable news networks for a few days prior to the visit wer saying how this was michelles first visit abroad, and how england and europe and the whole world loves Michelle!
A few days of this, then the visit happens, everything is nice, a few agenda points are ticked off by the news.. And then the same networks have various affiliated style and fashion journalists on to be interviewed, and they pose the puzzling question.. why are people so fascinated by Michelle Obama.
