All these LAME hosted/embedded "TUBE SITES" that are now popping up by the 1000's

checked out a few, and they are growing by the 1000's, not even just adult, even mainstream, they are painful to navigate and view, slow as molasses, it has to be torture for a surfer that comes from Redtube or Pornhub to end up on one of these bogus "tube sites" that use embedded videos.... if anything will strengthen the few big tubes like Redtube it will be all of these crappy bogus embedded "tube sites" all over the net now and growing by the day...

.seeing more and more of these where someone figures their ticket to riches in Adult is throwing up some cheap script on a shared server and have their own "tube site" that they figure deserves traffic, when things are already bogged down with 3 users online lol

/rant for the day

well, you make some real good points, but i just started a personal SEO tube project and I'm very pleased with the results so far. The people who think they'll be the next redtube with all the 2 minute clips are crazy. I don't even bother trying to get that type of traffic. My return visitors are next to nothing lol, but there's some key phrases out there with "tube" in them that are doing pretty good.

. . psd to xhtml/css conversions . . cost effective css template solutions . . and now offering css lessons . .

"Tricking the surfer" has always been part of the adult business model, so I'm not surprised to see "bogus" tubes popping up in attempt to trick surfers into believing they're the real deal, i.e. tubes with full length videos.

Pretty true. My favorites are the shitty tubes that open with the most general content you could possibly find. You could barely make money with blog traffic how general they are.

I have 4-5 of those myself, it took me about 2 hours to set and forget, they get way too much google love, small amount of traffic (500-1500 uniques), but I have hand-written blogs with 300+ posts and backlinks that get way less than that...so yeah, if you think that working in adult right now it's worth it, this "fake tube" route might not be such a bad idea + not to mention the dudes that really know their traffic game -> they get crappy pop-up ridden tubes to 20-30k uniques in no time...

I'd rather see hundred tubes with sponsors hosted flv's then 5 tubes with full length stolen porn videos.

Also those plug and play simple tube scripts have been very good SEO optimized, so it's easy to gain Google traffic even for a n00b.

Also I think it can be pretty succesfull if you spend some time on a real nice layout and color scheme.
