I actually feel bad for the old guys that I saw that came early today so that they could protest about their pensions and savings being trashed by interest rates. They came early so that they could miss what they called 'the trouble makers'. They can't protest without the fear of danger from those that just want an excuse to riot.Comment

Note my comment about the media in my first post. As I see it, this is the sort of thing that does causes flashes because you have on one hand that small group of protesters that are are just always looking for a reason to get violent. Then on the other hand, you have the media hyping up the fact that such people are on the protest. So, in the end the violent types almost feel as if they don't 'bring it' they are backing down in the heat and the media feel like they have wasted coverage if something doesn't kick off.Comment

This is true actually. Everyone a few years ago seemed to like to brag to people about how much their house cost. People on low wages boasting about how they have managed to get such an expensive house.
It was clear then people were taking on much more than they could afford. Now, they want to blame others since they can't afford to make the payments.
The banks/government are still assholes though...
