Honestly I find most of EU not to be overly expensive. If you must dine out 3 times a day thats where your costs go up. And also in transportation if you must use a taxi. ( Try Uber even though its not available in all cities ) Especially if your used to eating like and American does. I mean a full order plate with all the sides etc.. You should go to the following cities. Barcelona, Venice, Paris, Glasgow, Dublin, London. All really great cities and each Country will offer you something different. It shouldn't be very expensive to hop between them all, especially from Netherlands > UK > Ireland, you can take $40 ferries or trains mostly.
Have a great time. One of these days I am going to take 30-45 days and drive from Paris all the way to Croatia, stopping in Andorra, Spain, Monaco, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Austria and Slovenia! That would be a pretty wild trip, stop off for 2 nights max in a different City or Town. 10-11 Countries, 20-30 Cities/Towns.Comment
