Dems to top DOJ officials: Publicly promise not to interfere in Mueller's probe

It's been said for quite a while that Trump would try to fire Mueller while the Senate is on vacation right now from March 26 to April 7th.

All signs are pointing to Trump trying to fire Mueller in the next few days, likely this Thursday.

"Several Senate Democrats are urging top officials at the Department of Justice (DOJ) to make a public commitment that they will not interfere in special counsel Robert Mueller's probe, including refusing potential requests from the White House.

“We have significant concerns that the president or his White House could order individuals at the Department of Justice with the authority to oversee Special Counsel Mueller’s probe to interfere with the probe or shut it down," they wrote in letters dated March 7 but released publicly on Tuesday.

Democratic Sens. Richard Blumenthal (Conn.), Patrick Leahy (Vt.), Dick Durbin (Ill.), Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Chris Coons (Del.), Mazie Hirono (Hawaii), Cory Booker (N.J.) and Kamala Harris (Calif.) signed the letters."

If Trump shuts down the Mueller investigations it's direct obstruction of justice.

We can move straight to impeachment.

Yes everyone has warned him of impeachment including Republicans.

Trump doesn't want to be president anymore he loves playing the victim and he'll have a base kowtowing to him for the rest of his life if he's impeached in his mind that's a win over being president till he dies.

Wrong. The "senate" isn't a few democratic senators. It is when the senate votes and resolves by majority to take some action, which of course, they haven't done.

Also, impeachment will ONLY happen if the house goes to the democrats, and even then removal won't happen.

Sorry folks, you'll actually have to get out and work. 2018 and 2020, work on turnout and work on voting rights.

^^^ Nice delusional fake news, butt knocker. "It's been said?" Oh really? The dems say a lot of stupid shit, mostly false. No one has requested to fire Mueller.

Rochard, you are living in some fantasy land. It's not obstruction. The potus absolutely has the power to fire Mueller. You may not like it, but that's the reality. When it happens, it will be Rosenstein or Sessions that fires him, not Trump. Or Mueller himself will decide to end it.

Either way, it's not illegal, and he won't be impeached.
