Seriously though. Nickelback seems to be the band that people 'pretend' to hate in front of each other. How many people do you know say they 'HATE' Nickelback? Yet look at their album sales. People have to be boldly lying to each other.

The only people I've ever heard saying they like them are young kids and preteens, and women in the mid-thirty -to- late-fifty range in age.

One woman I used to know from N Cal who was 40-ish used to talk about how much she loved nickelback all the time, it drove me crazy.

There you have it... parents buying for their kids, young teens spending their allowance money, and middle-aged women.

Huge market.

Yeah the Canadian music scene sucks right now. Aside from Dallas Green, not much happening. Lot's of great local bands, but if the big record companies think you won't sell outside of Canada there isn't much hope for you.

They base a portion of the Juno winners on record sales, so relevant bands that don't suck shit don't stand a chance. You will always see Celine Dion/Bryan Adams/Diana Krall/Nickleback.. the whole thing is a farce.
