Mercedes DIGITAL LIGHT ► How Does It Work?

Very cool

I remember their innovation years ago when the fog lights (either left or right one) would be used to additionally light a curve when you turn. That is an ultimate stupidity.. It makes the car look like one of those lamps is broken as only one is turned on at a time for this purpose depending on the direction.

I feel like the Germans always need to come up with someting new to be cool and innovative, even if it is completely ridiculous, useless and stupid.

Audi has had the Matrix headlights for a few years already and they work great

Audi, BMW and Merc have had a cartel for years, which is quite apparent .. so there is no real competition between them.

Right, but the question was how well do they work

It's a great idea, but WOW do I hate that fucking sales pitch. Jesus Christ.

"Thanks to Intelligent Software" - Software is not intelligent. It's a set of rules. If this, do that.

"More than 1 million points of light can be individually controlled" - we get it. It's 1 Megapixel Projection TV that can shine patterns on the road.

"Light, as a source of ideas, philosophy and inspiration" - What?

"For a long time, digital light was a vision". LOL! No. Digital Light Processing was a vision, but that was discovered about 20 years ago.

"...and Digital Intelligence" LOL!!! Fire this fucking writer.

It goes on and on but you get where I'm going.

It's a great idea and a cool product and I'm sure it will be a trend setter that shapes car lighting for years to come, but the dork who wrote the sales pitch for this is really assuming every Mercedes buyer is an idiot.
