nice post thanks for sharing this one. -
No. It's a scam.
You're paying for pirate software.Comment

yes and no
it an out of scope use of the software, companies will sell the stuff really cheap to the oem because
1. the oem assume the support cost
2. the oem buy huge volumes
3. it a way to get preloaded /in front of a lot of people who would normally not buy your stuff
4. the licience does not allow you to move it to another machine, so if you upgrade your machine you have to BUY the software at full price for the new machine.
what these guys are doing is buying the oem copies and selling them outside the scope of the licience. (see 4)
basically your buying software that if you read the licience you are not allowed to install.Comment

If you're a student or know of someone who works on a college or university campus, you can get Photoshop CS4 for about that price. The full CS4 suite is under $300.Comment

their student license strictly prohibits transfer of license to someone else, if you're a student yourself - only you can use the software under their license legitimately. otherwise it wouldn't be any better than a pirated copy just for extra money.Comment

They're not real OEM copies. Trust me, you're buying pirated copies.yes and no

It's a fairly genius business plan, despite its illegality.
Sell a product unlimited times at a price that makes it seem legit, zing.Comment

"1. Why does your software is cheaper then the original software?
That's all because we offer only copies of license versions.
This mean that you will not receive any printed documents (license or instruction) - just files and instruction in notepad's format, any special packages and will not be able to register this software online."
If it's legit why wouldn't you be able to register it online?Custom Software Development, email: woj#at#wojfun#.#com to discuss details or skype: wojl2000 or gchat: wojfun or telegram: wojl2000

They serials are only able to be installed on two computers at any time.
They don't just sell them to students. They will sell them to anyone who comes into the university bookstore and wants to buy one. They didn't ask for any sort of Student ID when registering any of the copies we've purchased for home or office use.
I'm sure they're much happier getting $$$ of any sort when these programs are so easily pirated.Comment

i will go check out NYU store then) i know many people who will buy it off of me for significantly lower prices ) I know its not just students - any one can buy from education institute that's true - but i'm sure, a complete stranger coming in to a store w/o proof of being in EDU won't be able by that cheap. also read the license it says it right there in back and white. They serials are only able to be installed on two computers at any time.

My mom actually picked up and purchased the last copy, so I'm just telling you what I know. She isn't a student and didn't work at the University. They didn't ask for any info. Adobe does when you register, but they none of the info they want involved Student ID of any sorts.i will go check out NYU store then) i know many people who will buy it off of me for significantly lower prices ) I know its not just students - any one can buy from education institute that's true - but i'm sure, a complete stranger coming in to a store w/o proof of being in EDU won't be able by that cheap. also read the license it says it right there in back and white.
Like I said. So long as Adobe get's some money instead of no money they don't seem to care. We've had no problem registering any of them or getting full support.
And what does the license say in black and white? That I can't transfer it? I have no intention of doing so, so I really don't give a fuck.

But it's license does not grant you commercial use. It's cheap for students to use but if you use it to make money in a business, then you are breaking the license. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

candyflip, from legality of things you're still using pirated copy, your mom transfered license to you which is not permitted under their edu licensing terms and during purchase, store should have verified that the person is actually from EDU. and student and edu board person allowed to buy only one license for a single product.
I'm sure you sleep well at night and I'm sure they're happy with any money coming in for their products - that's why they have those ridiculous prices on their site and else where in stores.
i'm not trying to put you down or anything, just stating the obvious - it's against their licensing terms.Comment

My mother didn't transfer anything to me. She simply picked up the copies for me. I filled out and signed the product registration, it's in my name. There was no transfer of license.candyflip, from legality of things you're still using pirated copy, your mom transfered license to you which is not permitted under their edu licensing terms and during purchase, store should have verified that the person is actually from EDU. and student and edu board person allowed to buy only one license for a single product.

Being that I'm a part time student and actually do work for the school, I'm not too worried about it. They got my money for the software, which probably isn't the case for most of the folks working as designers.
I've registered the product and gotten phone support too. Adobe doesn't seem to care, so really...why should you or I?Comment
