If using gasoline became the 'weapon' of choice, and it was happening every couple weeks like we have now with school shootings, we would have to make gasoline less abundant and easy to get and convert to electric cars ASAP.
Kids can kill with knives, too. But that's messier and requires up close action. Guns are the great equalizer. Pull the trigger and you're as powerful as any God. That's what these troubled kids want, after all. Respect, power, unlimited power to cause mass pain is what they seek.
