the cops want to take them from you more than the Dems or Republicans

more and more proof these guns are not used for hunting in America and the more these things occur the less chances youll have of keeping military weapons for backyard shooting.

Being a police officer is a dangerous job. If you are not careful enough you get killed. If you are too careful you get hung out to dry for using excessive force. All that for very low pay.

None of the cops I know would let themselves draw "routine traffic stop" duty in East Oakland if they could help it. It's a danger zone for that kind of work.

Wait a second...this happened in Oakland, California? That can't be right. Assault weapons are banned in California. You can't legally get a gun with any more than a 10 round clip there. Not only that, in CA it's against the law to carry a loaded weapon inside your car like this guy did. How could a criminal go and flagrantly break the law like that?

Oh yeah, cause he a criminal and doesn't give a shit about gun laws.

Kind of like the gangsters in L.A. County who are still somehow managing to get their hands on 100% illegal, fully automatic machine guns, and other military grade hardware. Yes, tough gun laws work. California is proof of that.

They don't do it for the money they do it for the "hero" tag and the POWER trip...

the term 'assault rifle' is very broad - I don't know the exact definition, but Its not what you think it is. I have a 300 Winchester magnum in my closet, and all I ever use it for is hunting - if I cant eat it, I don't shoot it. it holds 4 rounds - 3 in the magazine and one in the pipe. Doesn't sound like an assault rifle does it? But there are people that believe it is. Hell, there are groups that think anything that holds more than one bullet is an assault rifle.
personally, I have no use for an ar-15, ak-47, or whatever. But if someone else wants to spend their money on that, no skin off my back. its a simple fact that, if these types of weapons are banned, or guns in general are banned, peaceful, law abiding citizens wont have them, but criminals will.

I have a buddy who is working on becoming a fireman. He's a great guy, hard worker and he generally just wants to save people.

Let me try and offer you some insigt into weapons control laws... Cross the border into mexico with a weapon and you get 15 years. NO MATTER WHAT. Get caught with a weapon and you get 15 years no matter what.. RIGHT NOW, I can go less than 5 mils from my home and buy bigger more powerful weapons than you can in the US. and they are so illegal here its amazing.

BAN THEM. It WONT stop them.
