            I guess I feel like the dating stuff will eventually stagnate on those sites. Many of those visitors are return visitors. If they see the same dating ads time and time again they eventually ignore them and they will be less profitable. I think eventually advertisers will start to lose money on them and back out and that will leave tube sites like this one in deep shit.

            But then again, maybe not.

They think because they have the traffic they can cash in and sell for millions too. How much does youporn want ? 20 million, how much do they claim it makes. $120,000 a month from advertising. That is net. The reason he wants to sell it, he would rather 20 million now opposed to 120K a month and sooner or later getting into shit.

                    Yes, I think you're right. It just makes sense to try and get out with a large lumpsum than operating under the risks while making a lot less than the lumpsum.

                    I'm curious, have any large adult tube sites been successfully sold to date? Are there companies and/or individuals out there that have $20 million willing to buy networks with so much associated risks?

                        edit, i meant i dont think that is net, i think that is 120K month gross, so they grossing like 1.5 million a year. even if they profitting 500K they want to sell for 20 million thats 40 years income i would want to sell too LOLOL. I bet if they put it up for sale for something reasonable someone would take them up on it, if they put it for sale for 3 - 4 million someone would buy it.

                            I'm sure they want out as soon as possible. The owners of Youporn admit they don't know what to do with it they just want to grow it as big as possible and sell it. I think they want out, like you say, before the shit hits the fan and they have to deal with the potential problems a site like that has. Better to get something nice today for it than risk getting nothing for it in a few years.

                                Hosted at ch00pa. They can unleash some serious bandwidth. Outside that, they host few large programs, and they seem to support gaming communities that burn bandwidth like there's no tommorow.

                                                    I doubt that they have many returning buyers, or buyers at all.

                                                                            Techy and determined surfers have many other ways to find your content for free than tube sites. Tube sites were a way for the market to solve a problem that non-techy surfers had. The problem was many of you guys have scammed sick amounts of surfers. Cross sales, and false promises etc.

                                                                                                                                        1) tube sites convert traffic
                                                                                                                                        2) tube sites are profitable (the ones i know well are)
                                                                                                                                        3) bandwidth/storage will only get cheaper
                                                                                                                                        4) broadband and user internet speeds are only going up

                                                                                                                                        .... so... thinking this isn't something thats here to say is insanely naive... even delusional.

Built an empire on stolen content, hemoraged money for years, and the got bought up by google for a hefty sum.

Surfers these days are way more savvy then they were 5 years ago. Conversion rates were high because people didnt know that there was so many torrent sites, tube sites, newz and free sites to download content from... it was only napster, limewire and old fashioned IRC.
