Miami, FL (AHN) - Former Vice President Richard Cheney told a Sunday cable television talk show that the Bush administration accomplished almost everything it sought out to do in Iraq since the United States invaded the country in 2003.

"I think it's my general sense of where we are with respect to Iraq at the end of now, what, nearly six years is we accomplished nearly everything we set out to do," Cheney said on CNN's State of the Union Sunday. "We have succeeded in creating in the heart of the Middle East a democratically-governed Iraq, and it is in fact what we set out to do."

Cheney called out the press and critics of the Bush administration to acknowledge the gains made in that country, including falling levels of violence, Iraqi troops taking over much of the security situation there and democratic elections.

"But I would ask people, and the press, to take an honest look at the circumstances in Iraq today, and how far we've come," Cheney said.

Wow now thats a suprise - Cheney doesn't like Obama - shows then that USA made the right choice in the direction they are heading.

Worldwide USA was considered a bully - now - there is more respect and less tension.

You can't live your life in fear nor your country, stay safe but that doesn't mean you need to be assholes about it. Keep up the good work Obama

In an interview with ABC a month before leaving office, Cheney said that the Bush administration would have invaded Iraq whether or not Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction because Saddam had the "capability" to develop them. The Bush administration invaded Iraq in 2003 on intelligence that Saddam was developing WMD. No such weapons were found.

War criminal ... no better then the germans that "liberated" Europe...

Cheney is like... an ink stain on a document. It may be in ink, and it may be on the document, but after just a moment you realise it doesnt belong there and you can ignore it because it doesnt represent anything of significance.
