I'm not a pay site subscriber and never have been, but if I did ever find a site to subscribe to -- it would have absolutely nothing to do with how the site is designed. Does the content give me a boner? That's the only question I would ask.
But I have some thoughts on this....If someone sees a big, fancy paysite and wants some of the content they can go find it with a google search on one of the tube sites.
If someone sees content on an amateur site that's appealing, most likely the only option is to sign up for the site. Also, maybe there's the idea in the back of a prospective customer's mind that the big guys don't need the money, but the little guy does.
