I grew up hunting and fishing, I even carried a .22 rifle to school in 2nd-7th grade and I would hunt after school. ( I would make worldwide headlines today but I would never ever have even pointed the gun at a person who was not a real and direct threat) I learned a lot fishing and hunting but I didnt do it so much for sport as for food, I loved squirrel rabbit and quail duck and dove and my mom would cook it for dinner or breakfast when I had enough in the fridge for a family meal...but I never killed anything I didn't eat. Hunting just to kill something is way way wrong for me. I think the discipline and responsibility as well as the self sufficiency I learned is something sorely lacking in people these days. I was in 2nd grade in 1965 I unloaded the gun and kept it in the coat closet till time to go home....nobody freaked out, nobody played with it or even touched it....it certainly isnt like that now.
