Thinking that Obama is a savior does not make much sense either but a majority on this board think that. Part of that plan is flawed, giving it more time will not change that fact.

He is right alot of it is perspective. with the right screaming on every channel and the radio. It doesn't create confidence. Combing it with the news it scares the shit out of people. IMO the right wont be happy until we are in a serious depression. How anyone would want to be part of a party whose main premise is government doesnt work dont these people realize electing these people that. They have to screw things up because if government works their premise fails.Comment

You never get tired of quoting that same wrong statistic over and over again do you? Probably because it suits your ideology.
Income tax is one of only dozens of different types of taxes paid by Americans. The wealthiest 2% do pay a large share of INCOME TAX....you know why?........wait for it........they have a fuck of a lot more INCOME than everyone else....and since income is what we're taxing, then the person with the most income, pays the most taxes.
When we're taxing property, the person with the most property pays the most taxes.
When we're taxing retail sales, the person who buys the most stuff pays the most taxes.
If we were taxing assholes, you'd be in worse shape than AIG.
When you look at the overall tax burden, payroll tax, sales tax, property tax, all other taxes and fees, the poor and middle class pay a far larger share of their income in taxes than the wealthy do...and this is even before the army of lawyers and accountants that the wealthy employ dream up schemes for them to avoid taxes.
Again, I could prove this with facts, figures, charts, graphs, and piles upon piles of data....but I'm not going to because even if I spent the time to do all of that you'd still find a way to not believe it.....you've done it to me before.
So again, what it comes down to is you vote in your own economic best interest, by voting for the guy who will lower taxes for rich people (and hopefully raise them on the middle class...which is what would happen if the flat tax you support ever became law).....the middle class votes for their own economic interest by voting for the guy who lowers their taxes and raises yours.....but yet you think you're morally superior in some way.
Gimme a fucking break.sig too bigComment

Obama is methodically following every promise he made while campaigning. He was elected based upon the direction he and his supporters (the majority of Americans) wanted to take our country. Those of us who voted him in are getting what we voted for. The real surprise is that a politician, who made campaign promises while campaigning, is actually making good on his word.
lol Assuming is fun... it doesnt require alot of knowledge or effort.. just type huffingtonpost.com or cnn.com once in a while and you'll think you know everything there is to know and darn it, its all rosy!!!

Saying that republicans are bad doesnt mean he's saying democrats are good. That's simply a false argument out of the box.
If anyone really thinks that a republican leaning website of note would have posted that.. well.. you're wrong I think. I am not hell bent on being "right", just saying I disagree.
Obama is clearly the most powerful president or head of state the world has seen in quite some time. Because if you like him, you tend to REALLY like him, and if you dont, you REALLY expend energy saying how bad you think he is. THAT is power.
It's pretty much the only argument the Republicans have and it's the only one they ever use. They are like women, they never argue about the facts or about the topic at hand.. They argue about anything they can blame on Democrats. In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

It is quite amusing (or sad) to see all the Democrats who were screaming about Bush's deficits and wasteful spending (I agreed with them) now mindlessly cheerng Obama as he proposes the largest deficit spending big government budgets of all time.
Obama is using the financial crisis as an excuse to massively expand the size and scope of the government bureaucracy and the control it has over our lives. You don't need to be a radical right winger to be opposed to that.бабки, шлюхи, силаComment

no... you think that it doesn't make sense to criticize because you are very left leaning and you have no taste for criticism from the right.
how can a party spend so many years complaining about Bush's total derailment from conservative principles, inflating debt, over-spending etc etc etc... then as a first course of action, do 2-3 times more than Bush ever did as a means to correct over spending?
how can you say "well, my guys have complained about this exact same thing for so long... and now that its got us into trouble as we were telling you it would... lets fix it by trying to triple the national debt in 10 years"
all these discussions about "Democrat" and "Republican" are no more intelligent or well reasoned than "Coke vs Pepsi"
i guess thats what makes it entertainingComment

Most Republitards want to frame this argument as just a spending issue - complaining endlessly about left wing fiscal hypocrocy. The reality is that much of Obama's new budget is focused on building the future of this country. You know, small details that the last administration completely and conveniently ignored. The future of this country must include better education for example, in hopes of producing future generations that can compete globally. Safer roads and bridges, streamlining the healthcare system before it collapses under its own weight, and so on.
The Bush administration spend money like it was going out of style, but on what? Besides burdoning all future generations with massive debt from their astronomical stupidity, what do we have to show from it all? Maybe instead of dumping boatloads of borrowed cash into Iraq, lining the pockets of the large oil companies, allowing the Wall Street tycoons to go from millionaires to billionaires, and generally destroying the middle and lower class through senseless class warfare, what did they leave us with?
When people complained about the Bush administration the Republitards called them anti-American. Well, if you are not willing to give Obama a chance, then what are you? Bush inherited a quality economy, and a budget surplus left over from a well run Clinton administration, and squandered it with wreckless abandon. Obama is starting out with a big pile of shit, left to him from 8 years of a self-serving GOP debacle, and you guys think you have the right to judge and complain. Give me a break!
Please continue exactly what you are doing, as it is the best way to ruin all of your future chances of ever returning to power again. Let Rush decide what is best for you, and contribute to the upcoming Palin 2012 campaign. Do not offer any solutions whatsoever. Complain about everything Obama does, and continue to cry about needing more tax breaks for the rich. Surely that will expand and secure your washed up party's chances for future elections - ha ha ha!Last edited by BFT3K; 03-10-2009, 09:14 AM.Comment

you can't print money without consequences. we don't have this money to spend. we're broke and living on loans in the middle of recession as it is.Most Republitards want to frame this argument as just a spending issue - complaining endlessly about left wing fiscal hypocrocy. that's not a difficult concept to understand.
you can't argue that Bush spent the country into the ground and that Obama is going to spend it to success.
and... if you really think spending money is a way to promote economic growth.. then why aren't we just spending ourselves rich? i mean.. that's all we have to do right? it doesn't matter if we can afford that spending or if we even have that money to spend. we'll just print trillions of dollars, devalue the currency, scare chinese away from buying our debt, triple the national debt in less than 10 years (by even the most conservative estimates) and all get rich?Last edited by Pleasurepays; 03-10-2009, 10:26 AM.Comment

It's about the same amount of sting that I feel knowing Paris Hilton has more money than I do. Seriously, there are plenty of dumb rich people, pro athletes, NASCAR drivers, porn millionaires. If this discussion was about making money in adult you would obviously be able to contribute useful information to the discussion.
However, the topic is about politics, social policy, and economics on which to speak intelligently about does require somewhat of an education. Your posts and direct quote indicates that you have none. You are the uneducated masses that you're railing against.

its funny how everyone has their blinders on... on all sides. i think bush is an idiot. but i don't think obama is better. he is a part of a system that encourages the worst behaviors and rewards irresponsibility and lying to the public.
all he is .. is a smooth talker with a message people want to hear in the midst of crisis. some guy who looks good in a suit, says he's going to fix all your problems for you and you line up like cattle to go to slaughter. ... and all the things you think Bush did to "cause" the situation we are in, he is doing on a much much larger scale. On top of that, he's saying he's going to cut the federal deficit in 1/2 in 2 years in the middle of totally retarded spending... and he's "creating jobs" at a net cost of over $220,000.00 to the federal government per job.
you can't solve your financial problems by borrowing money on the same terms, to pay for the money you previously borrowed and have already defaulted on.
economies grow... economies contract in relation to growth. we had 20 years of unprecedented global economic growth and now we have to pay the price for that. i can't believe everyone genuinely believes "Bush did it" - "Wallstreet did it" - "greedy banks did it" ... how fucking dumb and blind do you have to be??? Did Bush do it to Iceland? Is Bush doing it to Russia? Is Bush doing it to every other country on the earth? Its mind boggling that people can be so simple and naive and act purely on raw emotion to a guy who simply said what you want to hear.. just because you got tired of the guy saying things you didn't want to hear. I can't believe people are supporting a guy who is spending more money that anyone has ever spent in the history of the planet and at the same time blaming the guy who everyone claims did the same (and on a smaller scale no less) and so few democrats say "hey... wait a minute... this doesn't add up"... although some are starting to. just a nice chance after 8 years to push a lot of shit through the house and senate that would have never made it and haven't made it in the last 8 years.
"never let a crisis go to waste"
Bush used his crisis to go into Afghanistan, restructure the government and invade Iraq. Obama is using his crisis to increase the size of government, raise taxes and create tons of social programs and increase government dependence... while spending more money than anyone ever has.
why is it so important to trust Obama? Why is he so "above it all"?? He's about to sign a budget with over 8500 ear marks in it after campaigning on the promise that he was going to veto any bill with any ear marks. he said he was going to change it all and like anyone that actually gets the power after the promises, he's taking the worst and doing more. good intentions or not, printing money we can't afford to print and raising taxes to pay for more government and borrowing money to get out of a borrowing created problem is totally absurd.Comment
