At this point in time it's simply normal that the stock market is crashing. It's a whole pile of colateral debt.

In fact, if they had let AIG fail, the whole economic system that we live in would be in geopardy right now, and this is a clear cut fact. They let the smallest investing bank fail and look at the fuss this has caused ? AIG is a much much bigger systemic risk.
