So, are tube sites taking over TGPs/MGPs?

I remember some years ago some dude came here on GFY with his first Thumb TGP. He said it was the future. Everyone were laughing at him. Then over the years text TGPs were completely replaced by Thumb TGPs.

It looks like the same thing is happening with the Tubes. First, everyone was saying that it wasn't liable website model - too much traffic expenses, too much free porn given away, etc.

But now it looks like every newb is running a tube site. With bandwidth getting cheaper and cheaper, I totally see Tubes taking over.

What do you think?

MGP's, yes. TGP's no. The people who are pic surfers are in the market for something totally different than those surfing MGP's or Tubes. You also figure that the TGP surfers are of an older age demographic and have been buying porn for years, so in my findings, the pic market is still yielding excellent ratios and traffic is maintaining, although not increasing like that of a tube site...But what do I know.

I think the tube style content delivery method will be here to stay.

The giant illegal tubes will fade or morph into something else a little less blatantly illegal. Probably by the end of this year or early next year you will start to see changes in that direction.

I gotta agree. Alot of porn buyers are creatures of habit. And alot of them are also older and come from a different time then their younger counterparts. Not to say older people dont like tubes, i'm sure they do, but a TGP that can deliver the visual stimuli the surfer is looking for has just as much chance to make a sale as a tube.

TGPs are also simple sites. A 5 year old could navigate one (not that you would want one to) I'd bet alot of the older surfers are turned off by the complexity of tubes.

I'm funner than AIDS, and easier to explain to your parents.

People will be looking for more and more insane shit, as tube sites hand over more and more free porn the producers of content and the owners of content will be forced to pump out more and more porn, more new girls more crazy shit and innovation and invention will be pushed to their limits. You would think by now we had seen and done it all huh? 90k years of fucking as a species and now it is all coming to the end of the road.

Things will get a lot harder for the porn business as a whole if tubes take over. I for one am hoping it does not take over the industry.

I noticed a conversation between some newfags yesterday and they were probably 18, 19, or 20 years old and they were saying how they can't fap to pictures, only videos... the old model of selling weekly picture set updates and the odd video that gets trumped easily by tubes is pretty much over.... the new generations is not interested in surfing around looking at thumbs and galleries, they want free video within seconds and be able to have a super short attention span and fast forward and move on to the next one

I think everyone in the industry is feeling the pain of the tube site take over however it seems now that more and more companies are starting tube sites. Which contradicts and is just adding to the problem. Something legally needs to go in place before we are all out of jobs.

Yes but tgp and mgp will still live,maybe they will not have traffic as they used to have but they will have it.Beside main difference between tube and mgp is tube site have full length content while mgp have only 2 to 3 minutes videos,so that means you can gain same effect if you simply put long lenght videos on your mgp.
