...alright this should probably be fairly simple for most of you.
I have no problem transferring video from the FX7 but it only allows it in HD and not HDV. Whenever I try to select the HDV option it won't recognize the device. All the programs I have try do not work; windows movie maker, Sony Vegas Platinum 9.0, Nero, Adobe Primere....
The hardware I am using is an IBM thinkpad, 3.0 GHz P4, 1.5 GB RAM, with XP pro. For the firewire adaptor I've been using a Cardbus Card.
I've considered upgrading but am not the type of person who splurges 1-2 grand if I can help it on new hardware. What type of editing computer is the best value. Please think this through with what I have before simply saying what I should buy.
