because the muslim religion came from the jewish and the reason why they don´t eat pork was that pork meat spoils faster in hot countries than other meat.
a lot of people died on bacterias because they was eating this spoiled meat.

the same happens with animals what get killed and the blood is not out. this meat leads to fast infections when it is not cooled.

there are so many rituals and religious ceremonies what are simply based on hygiene.
no matter if it is the washing ritual of hand and feed and also the ritual genital shaving what should prevent lice from spreading.

but the easiest way to teach people doing that was to tell them that god wants it.

if there would be a new "religion" today it would look completely different and it would NOT be called religion. but the strategies to make people follow are the same.
