Anyone can buy or otherwise acquire a firearm. Everyone knows someone who knows some one, and if not one, everyone knows someone who owns a firearm and can get access to it with out much effort.
I kid not you - with one thous yards of me right now there are more assault rifles than my entire local police department has. I have three, my neighbor has four, my other neighbor is former Army and has two. God only knows what the police officer across the street has in his house.
Whatever. We hand out assault rifles to anyone who wants them, no questions asked.
